As part of the Republic Day celebrations, an Indian Food Festival was organized at Hotel Gran Melia Caracas from January 28 to February 9, 2008 with the collaboration of Ministry of Tourism, New Delhi.  On the inaugural day, a dance troupe from Brazil performed Indian classical dances interspersed with Bollywood dances and enthralled a large audience comprising the diplomatic corps, senior officials of the Government, and Venezuelans.
