•  National Founder of the Bolivarian Force of Workers.
•  National Coordinator of the Bolivarian Force of Workers
•  Founder Member of the ruling party Movement Fifth Republic (MVR)
•  Member for the National Congress, elected at the constituency Valle-Coche
•  President of the Integral Social Development Permanent Commission of the National Assembly.
•  President to the Joint Commission that studies the Legislative Initiative for the Promotion of Employment.
•  Coordinator of the Parliamentary Team of the Movement Fifth Republic (until March 2001)
•  Coordinator of the Parliamentary Team from the Block of Majority Change of the National Assembly.
•  Elected President (Speaker) to the National Assembly (Parliament) for the Period 2005-2006.

The Deputy Nicolas Maduro was elected through nominal system supported by the parties MVR, MAS, PCV, from the Electoral District N° 5 of the Capital District with 26,630 votes. This amount represents 65.86% of the total.
