India made a donation to the needy families of the Antimano parish. A retinue of the Ministry of External Relation, the Embassy of India, the Indian Association in Venezuela and representatives of the Mayor's Office of the Libertador Municipality made a tour of the community to assess the workings of the Missions Barrio Adentro, Robinson I and II, and the Food Preparation Houses brought forth by the Bolivarian Government The Embassy of India and the Indian Association of Venezuela carried out an humanitarian activity consisting in the handing over of a donation to the needy families of the Antimano parish of Caracas . The items donated by the Indian Community of our country consisted of 20 million Bolivars in medicines, wheelchairs, crutches, walking canes, household appliances, and home articles like fans, kitchens, refrigerators, bunks, and also footballs for the children. The Vice minister of External Relation for Asia, Middle East and Australia, William Izarra; the Ambassador of India, Deepak Bhojwani and his wife, officers of the Embassy, the President of the Indian Association in Venezuela, Abu Abraham, members of the Association and Gustavo Rosario, Director of Citizen management of the Caracas Mayor's Office, among other personalities, were in charge of the handing over the donation to the community El Carmen, La Batea, La Sequia y las Morochas of Antimano. Before the ceremony of handing over, the attendants made tour of the sector El Carmen of Antimano, to observe the workings and know the requirements of the Missions Barrio Adentro, Robinson I and II, and the Popular food distribution Houses. They also visited some of the houses of the beneficiaries of the abovementioned donation. The Vice-minister of External Relation for Asia, the Middle East and Australia, William Izarra pointed out that “ we won't stop with this donation we must continue to develop similar activities, with the other Embassies or with the Alcaldia of Municipality Libertador with the units that are working in the social line, with all has to do with Barrio Adentro, with the Robison Mission and Mercal, to all this we have to continue giving support, it is not only today's occasion. The Vice-minister informed that this type of activities will continue in areas of the capital like Mamera and Caricuao, -and “all the hills of Caracas, this work we must continue developing , and in what is left of this year, I have a commitment to visit them all” he pointed out. In this sense, and within new aspect of International Relations, in the framework of the revolutionary process that is being brought forth by the Venezuelan Chancery, the Vice-minister William Izarra, commented that the Embassies of China and Iran will sponsor the next donations, he pointed out that the Embassy of Japan is also going to make other donations, but this time on a national level, after determining witch state going to be selected, the donation will probably consists of transportation, schools and hospitals. The Vice-minister Izarra indicated that from the humanitarian point of view, the donation of the Indian Community in Venezuela constitutes an important gesture, also, he said, “the great social sensibility of the Ambassador, that in company of his wife, and the Indian Association of Venezuela, in a spontaneous, voluntary way, has come here today. The Ambassador of India, Deepak Bhojwani, said that “ We here to support, not only to give a donation, that will be a drop of water in the ocean of effort that the Venezuelan Government has been doing with the Missions” Added that the donation was done mainly by the industrialist of the pharmaceutical sector of his country. In this sense, he remarked the importance of the Pharmaceutical Industry in India and Venezuela , where he explained that 10 companies are acting not only to market their production, but to set up plants.
Tour of El Carmen “What we have seen today has left my wife, my colleagues and their spouses, with a very strong feeling. There are needs here- like in all the countries- mainly in India because we have a population that surpasses one billion people, there are many needs but what we don't lack in India and neither here for what I see in this parish of Antimano, El Carmen, is the political will , evidenced in the person vice chancellor Izarra and his colleagues, and in the representation of the Mayor of the Municipality Libertador, but mainly in the women and in the men who handle the great projects to take care of this population that lives here, here one can see the humanity and we feel within humanity”. Such were Ambassador Deepak Bhojwani's words after the tour conducted through the sector El Carmen of the Antimano parish. The retinue of Ministry of External Relation, The Embassy of India, The Indian Association in Venezuela, representatives of the Alcaldia of Municipality Libertador, and the population in general, visit in first place, a House of Popular Food Distribution, destined for 150 children, old and unemployed people, that provides daily lunches and snacks. There, Ambassador Bhojwani and his wife, tasted the food offered to the population and indicated that it was similar to that of his country. In the same place , the assessed the workings of Robinson Mission I and II, directed to people of any age between children and adults, according to the explanation of Margie Muñoz, Coordinator of La Batea Sector of Barrio Adentro. Later the retinue went to the Health Module El Carmen, where a general medicine unit, a dentistry unit, an ophthalmology unit and gynecology unit work. Doctor Berta Lina, chief of this medical center, comments that the dentistry unit works very well and Venezuelan as well as Cuban doctors work jointly. The doctor explain that the Health Module El Carmen, takes care of a population of 2105 patients, between adults, children old people, and pregnant women, with an average of 30 patients daily. Se commented that in the parish there is a total of 35 doctors, among them 12 dentists, one ophthalmologist and medical and paramedical personnel. Se informed that soon Barrio Adentro II is going to open three diagnostic centers (CDI) in the parish. As a special detail, the wife of the Ambassador of India and the ladies of the Association India of Venezuela, placed on the forehead of all the women of the community, a Bindi, typical Indian symbol. Another detail, was the donation of a Panopo collection of literary works of great Venezuelan painters and historians, as well as the Tricolor Magazine, on behalf of the Archives and Library of the Ministry of External Relation to the school La Marginal of el Carmen sector of the Antimano parish, This donation of the MRE, was delivered by the Director of this office, Ambassador Ana Esther Hernandez.
