"Venezuelan association of
Friends of India"


We, Federico Alberto Landaeta M,
a professional aviation pilot, domiciled here and carrying Identity Card No. v-2.947.833, Diana Insausti professional Broadcaster, living here and with ID Card No.v-6.563.602, Jose Roberto Moros, a Yoga Professor, living here and with ID No.v-6.307.313, Daniel Medina, professional Lawyer, living here and with ID No. v-15.394.002, all of Venezuelan nationality and Jean Pierre Luneau, a professional Journalist, of French nationality, holder of ID Card No.e-81.493.022, in accordance with what was agreed in the meeting held on 5th August, 2004, and as per the rights guaranteed in articles 52 and 53 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in the present document agreed to constitute, and in fact have done so, “ASOCIACION VENEZOLANA AMIGOS DE LA INDIA” (VENEZUELAN ASSOCIAITON OF THE FRIENDS OF INDIA), whose Constitution as drawn up is sufficiently broad to serve at the same time as a Statute of the same, which will consist of the following clauses:

First: The Name: The Cultural non-profit Civil Association shall be called “ASOCIACION VENEZOLANA AMIGOS DE LA INDIA” ( VENEZUELAN ASSOCIATION OF FRIENDS OF INDIA).

Second: Domicile: The Venezuelan Friends of India Association will be domiciled in the city of Caracas, but will be able to establish centres in any place in the Republic, with prior authorisation of the Managing Committee.

Third: Duration: Its duration will be for an indefinite period as long as it carries out the objectives for which it was created.

Fourth: The Purposes: The Association has its objective the following aims:

(A) To study and propagate through all media, the cultual, scientific, educative, historic, ecological and spiritual values as well as the people of India, with no other motive than to offer to Venezuelans, and other inhabitants of Venezuela, the best possible material to know that country.

(B) Enable, promote and encourage all sorts of social, educative, artistic, media, touristic, scientific and spiritual activities and initiatives in Venezuela and at the international level in favour of India.

( C) Activate, promote and encourage creation of books, bulletins, conferences, discussions, radio and television programmes which have as their norm and objective the study and propagation of all that India represents in Venezuela and in the world in all aspects: social, cutural, artistic, ecological, scientific and spiritual.

(D) By this same Consitution, are hereby created: a monthly Bulletin and a radio programme which will serve as publicity organs of the Association of Friends of India in Venezuela, which henceforth will be called: “Friends of India” and will be presented always in the name of the Association of the Friends of India of Venezuela. The responsibility will be of the following persons: in the case of the Bulletin in the person of the Secretary, who will have the function of Director and in the case of the radio programme in the person of the President, or in his absence, of the Secretary or any other person designated and approved by the Managing Committee.

 

Fifth: Of the Administration and Functions: The Association will be run by a Managing Committee consisting of three principal members ( a President, a Secretary-General and a Treasurer) and two members, who will exercise their functions for three years, and hence can be re-elected if 3/5th of the Committee are in favour. In the case of absence of the President, whether temporary or permanent ( in this case a written resignation is obligatory), the Secretary General will be the President of the Association. For his part, the First Member will take the place of the Secretary General and the Second Member the place of the Treasurer. 

All the Management Posts are “Ad Honorem”: The functions of each one of the Committee Members will be the following: The President will legally represent the Organisation and will be responsible for the general management of the Association, and can appoint in any circumstances as Advisers “ad honorem” for any matters which he considers necessary : the Secretary General will be responsible for the Constitution, the correspondence and the administrative functions of the organisation with the power to contract, always “ad Honorem” as many collaborators as required for the proper functioning of the Association. Besides he will be responsible for the management of the official Bulletin “Amigos de la India”.

Sixth: Of the Finances: The Association will be financed through voluntary contributions of its members as well as funds raised from activities carried out in completion of its objectives.

Seventh: Of Membership: All persons who show a willingness to comply with the objectives and aims of the Association can be active members of the “Friends of India”.

Eighth : Of the Meetings: The ordinary meetings will be attended by all members and should be held at least once a year on 15th August, Independence Day of India, or within the succeeding five days, jointly to inform about the activities carried out by the Association as well as to elect or re-elect the Managing Committee, as per the Statute. The Extra Ordinary meetings will be held based on special agenda agreed upon as required for the meeting.

Ninth: Other Issues: That which is not foreseen in the Constitution and the Statute will be resolved by the Managing Committee.

Tenth: Temporary Arrangements: The following members will form the Managing Committee: President: Jean Pierre Luneau; Secretary General and Director of the Bulletin “Friends of India”: Frederico Alberto Landaeta Martinez; First Member: Diana Insausti; Second Member: Jose Roberto Moros and Legal Adviser: Daniel Medina. Thus citizen Jean Pierre Luneau is authorised, as earlier identified, to draw up the protocalised certificate before the Registro Subalterno correspondent to the present Constitution. The meeting terminating with the signatures of those present is taken as agreement with the present Constitution: Federico Alberto Landaeta Martinez, ID. Jose Roberto Moros, ID No. v-6.307. 313; (Fdo) Daniel Medina, ID Card No. v-15.394.002; (Fdo) and I Jean Pierre Luneau, of French Nationality of legal age, ID Card No. e-81.493.022, and duly authorised by the meeting of the Venezuelan Association of the Friends of India certify that the present Constitution is the true and exact copy of its original. Caracas 20 August, 2004, years 193rd and 58th, of the Independence of Venezuela and of India respectively.
