ISSUE OF NEW PASSPORT

An application for a new passport can be made within six months before expiry or within one year after the expiry of the passport (click here for application form)

Requirements:

Duly filled in application form in BLOCK letters in expanded form using black/blue ink only.

POINTS TO BE NOTED BEFORE FILLING IN PASSPORT FORMS

PASSPORTS: All Passport holders should fill in all columns and not leave blank. Please write-NO/NOT APPLICABLE wherever it is not applicable.  Please also mention, if the holder is holding any other passport, other than Indian Passport.

All passport application forms should be accompanied by Original Passport as well as Photocopies of the Passport with a return courier packet covering the cost. Photocopies of the first two pages and last two pages(containing all particulars of Passport holder and parents names including the address) as well as the Visas for St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, Curacao and Aruba.

LOSS OF PASSPORT:
In case of loss of Passport, for issuing Duplicate Ppt., Original Police Report along with the Official/recognized English translated version should accompany the Passport forms.

PAYMENTS FOR PASSPORTS:

CASH is NOT acceptable for PASSPORT fees OR for return courier packets for sending back the Ppts. Return courier packets are to be sent along with the applications by the applicants in the beginning itself (a) Only drafts IN US DOLLARS are acceptable for applicants from Netherlands Antilles, Aruba and nearby islands. Kindly send Return Packets with complete addresses (with details of applicant’s name/Telephone Nos. etc.) where the Fedexes/DHL are to be sent back. (b) Bank Deposit Slips after deposits have been made in BSF.(BOLIVAR FORTE)in CASH IN BANCO PROVINCIAL, CURRENT ACCOUNT NO. 0108 0231 89 01001 30102 of the EMBASSY OF INDIA, CARACAS are supposed to be sent by locals applying from Caracas i.e. who are not coming directly to the Embassy (applications sent by courier services- Fedexes/DHL covers with return fedexes/DHL etc.) (c)Applicants coming personally to the Embassy are required to first deposit money directly in our local Bank in Caracas in CASH in Bsf.- BOLIVAR FORTE,  in the  Account of    EMBASSY OF INDIA, CARACAS, in BANCO PROVINCIAL (CURRENT ACCOUNT NO. 0108 0231 89 01001 30102) and bring the deposited bank receipts to the Embassy.  All applicants applying from St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, Curacao and Aruba under jurisdiction of the Embassy, should ensure sending DRAFTS only in US Dollars as per rules.

After the renewed Indian Passports arrive from India, the old valid passport will be sent back to applicants after cancellation.  A stamp of cancellation will be affixed mentioning “OLD PPT. CANCELLED. VALID VISAS INSIDE PASSPORT NOT CANCELLED”.

POINTS TO BE NOTED FOR PHOTOS TO BE PASTED IN PASSPORT APPLICATIONS:

ALL APPLICANTS APPLYING FOR INDIAN PASSPORTS ARE REQUIRED TO FURNISH 4(FOUR) PHOTOS OF ONLY 40X40 MILLIMETRES (4x4 CENTIMETRES) SQUARE IN SIZE (RECTANGULAR PHOTOS WILL BE REJECTED). PHOTOS NOT IN CONFIRMATION WILL BE REJECTED RIGHTAWAY AND SENT BACK TO APPLICANTS IN THE RETURN FEDEXES SENT BY THEM/COURIER PACKETS AT THEIR EXPENSE.
Out of the Four photos, one photo should be pasted within the Photo Box only (which should not run into the Signature Box). Photos should not be stapled. There should NOT be any marks on the photo. No glue marks/marks of staple, no signatures in front or behind the photo. The second photo is to be glued on the page with the title ‘PROFORMA FOR DESIGNATED DISTRICT AUTHORITIES’. The balance of two photos should be placed in an envelope without any clips or staple marks which can be stapled on left hand side of the first page of the Application form. There should be no border lines appearing around the photos. PHOTOS SHOULD HAVE ONLY ‘CREAM’ BACKGROUND (which is LIGHT YELLOW) and NOT DARK YELLOW background. PHOTOS WITH WHITE OR ANY OTHER BACKGROUND WILL BE REJECTED.
80 PER CENT COVERAGE OF THE FACE, UPTO THE TIP OF THE SHOULDERS ONLY APPEARING IN THE PHOTO.

PICTURE CLARITY-  300 DPI RESOLUTION(IMAGE CLARITY OF THE PICTURE). COLOUR OF THE PHOTO SHOULD  NOT BE TOO DARK OR TOO LIGHT. BLURRY, DOUBLE OR DISTORTED IMAGES OF PHOTOS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Both ears should show/appear. Hair should not cover the ears. In case of females, hair can be tied up.   Shirts (not T-shirts) for men should be used for photos. The colour of the background of photo, and the colour of the clothes should not be the same. The clothes should be slightly darker than the background. Avoid white colour clothes.
There should be space left on all four sides of the photos. The image of the person should be in the centre.(The head of the person should not touch the roof of the photo). Signature of applicants should only be made in Signature Box, not across the photos.

PHOTOS FOR CHILDREN: It may be ensured that the hands and waist of the child should NOT appear in the photo.  Only the face and the tip of the shoulder should appear in the photo with above specifications.

POINTS TO BE NOTED FOR SIGNATURE BOX, FOR PPT. APPLICATIONS:

All signatures should be made in the middle of the signature box. Females to use Right Thumb, and Males to use Left Thumb for impressions on application forms. Signatures running out of the box will be rejected. Signatures may be done in black ink appearing within the signature box.
Parents should not sign in ‘signature column’ or on/across the ‘photo’ on behalf of minor children/infants or children who cannot sign. The signature box may be left blank in such cases.

Thumb Impression for PPTs for Minors/new born babies:

Thumb Impression by children who cannot sign may be done within the Thumb Impression Box itself (and not out of the box). Parents should NOT sign on behalf of children.

In cases, where the passport has already expired for more than one year, the applicant should submit an affidavit and may have to appear personally, if required by the Consular Officer (affidavit click here)

Proof of work permit/stay permit/copy of identity card showing legal status of the applicant in the country of residence.

Current Passport.

Fees US $ 40.00 (Bs.F. 200) for 36 pages passport booklet.

Fee US $ 50.00 (Bs.F. 250) for Jumbo 60 pages passport booklet.

US $ 125 (Bs.F 625) - for loss of passport/duplicate passport.

Applicants applying for a new passport or additional booklet are required to submit a photocopy of marriage certificate, in case, the name of the spouse has not been included in their passport.

If the application is found to be in order and no other prior reference is required to be made, the passport will normally be issued within 7 working days .
