DECLARATION OF RENUNCIATION OF CITIZENSHIP OF INDIA ON
ACQUISITION OF CITIZENSHIP OF ANOTHER COUNTRY

Under Indian laws, Persons of Indian Origin who have held the citizenship of India in the past, or those Indian Nationals who are in the process of acquiring foreign nationality, are required to formally renounce (give up) their Indian Citizenship. Such applicants, who fall within the jurisdiction of this Embassy, are required to surrender their Indian passports to this Embassy to obtain a Surrender Certificate in lieu thereof. The applicants, who do not have their passports available for justified reasons with supporting documents, may furnish their passport details in a prescribed form to obtain an Acknowledgement instead.

Information about Visas:

This information is valid only for residents of Venezuela, Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
The Embassy reserves the right to interview the applicants if need be and the submit of the requirements for the application of the visa are only for the process and should not be taken as warranty, the fees cannot be reimbursed.
After the process of the visa the passport can be collected by other person with an authorization dully signed by the applicant.

VISAS

FOREIGN PASSPORT HOLDERS - POINTS TO BE NOTED, FOR VISAS GRANTED BY EMBASSY OF INDIA, CARACAS TO APPLICANTS TRAVELLING TO INDIA

All applicants applying for visa to India, may kindly bring applications in ENGLISH. All applications should be sent TYPED in Capital and bold. ALL columns should be duly filled in. No column should be left blank (please ensure writing ‘No’,  ‘Not Applicable’ wherever applicable. Incomplete forms will be summarily rejected and sent back at the expense of  applicants. Return Packets- Fedexes, MRW etc. should be accompanied with the Visa Applications, if they are being sent back by post (which are not brought to the Embassy personally). The PROFESSION, PURPOSE OF THE VISIT and PLACES to be visited to specific places (with mention of name of State) should invariably be filled in.   All Telephone Nos./Cell Nos. available should be filled in. At least 2 or more tel. Nos. may kindly be mentioned to contact the applicants.


VISAS TO PERSONS OF INDIAN ORIGIN:
In case Persons of Indian Origin, holding Netherlands passports or passports of any other nationality, who are applying for more than six months  Tourist Visa (X Visa), are required to attach photocopies /proofs of their being born in India/or of Indian origin with parents, grandparents being born in India, failing which only 6 months tourist visa will be granted.  The visa processing fees once collected is not refundable whether it is for 6 months or more5 year visas and long term visas are granted only in special cases & in case of Indians/ persons proving to be of Indian origin, on case to case basis.

YELLOW FEVER CERTIFICATE (APPROVED) TO BE ATTACHED BY ALL VENEZUELANS WITH VISA APPLICATION FORMS

REQUIREMENTS FOR TOURIST VISA

REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESS VISA

·Yellow fever certificate.
·Letter issued for the representative company
·Invitation letter from the company visiting in India.
·An interview may be made with one of the officials of the Embassy

REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESS VISA
In addition to the points to be observed for Business Visa as laid down in the Visa Application, the following additional documents may also be attached by the applicants, with the Business Application forwarded to the Embassy of India, Caracas

  • Copy of Identity Card.
  • Business Card containing information where he is employed.
  • Registration Letter from the local Ministry of Commerce of their country concerned, registering them as a businessman
  • Letter of recommendation on Letter Head of the Company from (a) the applicant’s employer and (b) the company inviting him from India, addressed to the Embassy of India, Caracas, with date, stamp of company, duly signed by the company representative, with reasons, exact purpose of visit, nature of job to be conducted, the type of Visa applied for(by the company inviting him), with  consent of employer/invitee that they have no objection to the applicant traveling to India, with name of contact person to be met by the applicant, complete particulars of Company where he is going- address with name of state, all telephone no./Cell Nos. (with state/city codes etc.)
  • Visiting Card (bearing  his name, address, name of company etc.)
  • Highest Degree obtained by applicant in his field /Certificate for the profession he is in.

  • REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT VISA
    ·Passport with a minimum validity of six months (minimum 3 pages free for visas). If you have dual citizenship this has to be indicated and please bring both passports, in such cases.

    ·Copy of approval of admission from a recognized institution in India.

·Proof of employment indicating the level, expertise and description of the job to be performed in the place of employment by an Indian Company/organization.

REQUIREMENTS FOR JOURNALIST VISA

  • Proof of being a Journalist-Identity Card of the applicant registered as a Journalist.
  • All Journalists by profession traveling as a tourist or a Journalist, including applicants who have got a Degree of Journalism but are not practicing as a Journalist, should give an undertaking, in the form of a letter addressed to the Embassy of India, Caracas, with their signatures, date, saying that they are going only as a Tourist/Journalist (as the case may be) during their visit to India, and that they will not indulge in any journalistic activities.

Visa service should be availed of within 30 days of bank deposit.

Notes:

Foreigners of Indian Origin:

All applicants who are foreigners but born in India, (except Netherlands Passport holders born in India)are required to pay an additional fee of US $ 10, in addition to the normal charges listed in the website. For grant of long term visa for 5 years visa to applicants who are NOT born in India, but are born to Indian parents, are required to provide copies of Indian passports of their parents (as proof that their parents are Indian passport holders). 5 year visas are granted only in special cases.

Foreigners of Indian origin desiring to visit India for short periods each year to meet their relatives etc. can be granted 5 years multiple entry ‘X' visa with a stipulation that each stay shall not exceed 180 days. In this case no registration would be required if the foreigner does not stay beyond 180 days. In case a foreigner of Indian origin is desirous of staying continuously for longer period, the Mission could grant upto 5 year validity ‘X' visa without the stipulation of each stay not to exceed 180 days. In the latter case, the usual condition of registration required within 14 days of first arrival in India (as per the foot note on the visa sticker )would apply.

The nationals of the following countries are granted Gratis Visa

Afghanistan , Argentina , Bangladesh , Jamaica , Mauritius , Mongolia , Maldives , North Korea (DPRK), Poland , Slovak Republic , South Africa and Uruguay .

No visa is required for nationals of Nepal and Bhutan .
