Ministry of External Affairs of India would be holding the 37th, 38th, 39th and 40th KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME (KIP) from December 2016 to January 2017 and engagement programme of the diaspora youth of Indian origin, as per the following details:

2.   Some important aspects w.r.t. these KIPs:

  • All four KIP groups will participate in the youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 7 January 2017 in Bengaluru and the inauguration of 14th PBD Convention on 8 January 2017 - where PM and select Chief Ministers will participate and address delegates. Therefore, Bengaluru has been included in the 25day itinerary of the KIP groups.

  • In the Application Form, the applicant should indicate his preference for each KIP, in the order or priority. Ministry will attempt to allot the first preference of each applicant to the extent possible. If there are too many applicants for a specific KIP, the allotment of candidates will be on first-come-first serve basis and subject to fulfillment of all eligibility criteria.

3.         The following may also be noted:


(i)            The participants comprising of overseas Indians in the age group of        18-30 years who have distinguished themselves in any field and have abiding interest in India and links with India through parentage, are eligible to apply for this program.

(ii)          It is open to Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) from all over the world. NRIs are not eligible to apply for this program.


(iii)        Selected participants would be provided return air tickets (at lowest economy excursion fare). They will have to pay 10% of total airfare to the Mission before they leave for India.

(iv)        All KIP participants must hold International Travel and Medical Insurances. This is a mandatory provision.

4.         Interested Diaspora youths are advised to send their requests/prescribed form to the Embassy of India, Caracas at least one week before the proposed last date (30 October 2016) for receipt of nominations in the MEA through Missions
